Korean Arrested for Alleged Forgery

Hwa Ryun Na, a Korean former Ghana Police Tae Kwan Do instructor, has been arrested by the police at Tema for alleged forgery of signatures and steps of a fishing company.

His arrest took place last Tuesday at the Tema fishing harbour, causing a heavy human and vehicular traffic jam.

Chronicle investigation has it that on Tuesday, at about 1315 hrs GMT, armed policemen saw Mr. Hwa Ryun Na emerge from the quay at extension at the fishing harbour in a blue black BMW registered GW1855. He was identified and immediately apprehended, sent to the fishing harbour police station briefly, and handed over to the district commander of the Railway and Ports police at Tema.

Police remained tight-lipped on the arrest but Chronicle investigations revealed that it was upon a wireless message sent from the Railway and Ports police at Takoradi. He was granted bail and asked to report at the Takoradi Railways and Ports police station on Thursday 24th April, 2003.

Chronicle intelligence gathered that on the said date, the former police Tae Kwan Do instructor drove to the station in a blue/black Toyota Landcruiser GT 9070 T, accompanied by a well respected retired commissioner of police.

Our sources hinted that one Madam Gladys Galley, a vessel owner reported alleged forgery of her signature and stamps at her fishing company based in Tema.

When Chronicle reached Madam Gladys Galley on the issue, she refused to comment and said that the main case is pending before the Sekondi High Court.
