Konkoma citizens raise funds to support education

Konkoma (Ash), Aug. 14, GNA- Citizens of Konkoma including those resident in Kumasi and Accra have raised 33 million cedis for the formation of an Education Fund.

The money will be used to assist schools in the town, the Reverend T.B. Fordjour, Assemblyman for Konkoma said this during communal labour to build a place of convenience for the town.

Rev. Fordjour said they had also donated one million cedis towards the project.

He said citizens of the town resident in Kumasi in particular have agreed to go to the town on the first Tuesday of every month to join their brothers and sisters to do communal labour.

He said the people have found that assistance from the government and the district assembly were inadequate to provide them with all their needs.

Rev. Fordjour mentioned one of the projects as the drainage system in the town.
