Konadu Appraku tours Central Region

Agona Swedru, July 20, GNA – Dr Kofi Konadu Appraku, a Presidential Aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has embarked on a two-day tour of the Central Region to solicit supports from delegates who would be attending the national congress of the Party to elect a flag bearer. During the tour he would meet constituency executives who pledged their support for him, Alhaji Baaba, his National Campaign Manager, has said.

According to him a survey had revealed that Dr Appraku was leading in the region.

He stated that the survey indicated that about 80 percent of the delegates would votes for him.

The Campaign Manager said the Central Region had been divided into two zones to facilitate a “one-on-one” campaign to tell the people about his vision and programme.

Alhaji Baaba said Dr Appraku was attracting support because of his long relations with party executives in the region since the campaign of the late Professor Adu Boahene, in 1992.

According to the Campaign Manager, party executives in the Region knew the role Dr Appraku played in the organization of the various constituencies from 1992 until 2000 when the party came to power. Alhaji Baaba expressed optimism that the delegates would never turn their backs on Dr Appraku and said the tour had given him more confidence that the Presidential hopeful would get the nod.
