The trial of Johnson Kombian, a businessman, who is being held for killing two policemen in the Northern Region, was on Monday adjourned to May 20.
This was because the state was unable to produce two witnesses who were expected to testify before an Accra Fast Track High Court hearing the case.
According to Mrs. Marina Appiah Opare, Principal State Attorney, and the prosecutor of the case, the investigator was unable to produce the witnesses, hence the adjournment.
Witnesses expected to testify include a former assemblyman from Nankpanduri.
The prosecution prayed for an adjournment, and the matter was, therefore, adjourned to May 20 by the court presided over by Mr. Justice Mustapha Habib Logoh.
Kombian and his accomplices, who are on the run, were alleged to have ambushed the three policemen.
Two of the policemen, Constables Prince Agyare and Owusu Frimpong, however, died.
Kombian has denied the charge of conspiracy and two counts of killing the two police officers, before a seven-member jury.
He has, therefore, been remanded in prison custody by the court.
