Johnson Kombian, the businessman, who is being held for killing two police officers in the Northern Region on Tuesday had his case adjourned to April 16 by an Accra Fast Track High Court.
The adjournment came after Mrs. Marian Appiah Opare, Principal State Attorney had told the court that their next prosecution witness who was to testify was unwell.
Earlier, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abdulai Mumuni, a former District Commander of Bunkpurugu Yunyoo in the Northern Region, in a cross examination, maintained that one rifle was retrieved by the Police after the shooting of their colleagues.
According to ASP Mumuni, now Commander of the Odorkor Motor Transport and Traffic Unit, those who killed Constable Prince Agyare and Constable Owusu Frimpong might have ambushed them.
The third policeman, Corporal Osei Bonsu, who sustained gunshot wounds, survived the attack.
Kombian and his accomplices, who are on the run, were alleged to have ambushed the three policemen on October 17, 2010.
Kombian has denied the charge of conspiracy and two counts of killing the two police officers before a seven member jury. He has been remanded into prison custody by the court.
