Koku Anyidoho Is Still Communications Director At The Castle – Minister

Information Minister Fritz Baffour says a statement issued by the Presidency clarifying government’s communication structure was not targeted at or meant to sideline the Communications Director at the Castle, Koku Anyidoho.

Mr Baffour said the statement merely reemphasizes the channel of communications approved by the government in relation to the public. It said all official communications from government must bear the signature of the secretary to the president or Chief of staff in some cases, and that all government’s information is communicated through the Information Ministry.

The statement comes in the heels of a recent gaffe by Koku Anyidoho who hastily said on radio that President Mills had ordered the suspension of the Ashanti Regional Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) after a shameful blackout occurred during a World Cup qualifier between Ghana and Lesotho.

But Mr Baffour told XYZ News the statement has nothing to do with the communications Director at the castle. “Communications Director is still the Communications Director. It has always been so… What we are trying to do is to harmonise our dissemination of information, that’s all,” he stressed.
