KOKA Calls for FBI Investigation into Chris Waddle’s Finances Amid Political Tensions

NPP sympathiser and creative industry figure Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, has called on the FBI to investigate Ghanaian rapper Chris Waddle’s source of wealth, accusing him of flaunting a lifestyle far beyond what music can afford.

Speaking on Starr FM’s Starr Showbiz with Feeling Daddy on Saturday, June 21, KOKA stated that his appeal is driven by what he described as repeated attacks from the rapper, not just against him, but also against former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“Chris Waddle has become a social commentator. He publicly ridiculed Nana Addo and his governance. Early this year, twice, Chris Waddle attacked and insulted me on Twitter [X]. And today if FBI is in Ghana investigating people… I am questioning your wealth because you did music. The music cannot give you the amount of money you have and the cars you drive,” KOKA alleged.

According to him, Waddle’s commentary crosses the line into disrespect, and in retaliation, he is pushing for formal investigations. He added that he intends to submit a petition to the US Embassy in Accra to trigger further scrutiny into the rapper’s business dealings.

“I’m saying, till I rest, I will make noise. I’m going to write to the American Embassy. I will make noise till they get to his turn,” he insisted. “Wherever the FBI is—if they don’t arrest him—then the ones they’ve arrested, I question it. Was he fair to my government? Was he fair to my personality? No.”

The remarks have sparked a divisive response online, with some suggesting KOKA’s allegations are politically motivated, while others have questioned the line between personal grievances and legitimate financial concerns.

Chris Waddle, known for hit tracks like Ayi and his entrepreneurial pursuits, has yet to comment publicly on the accusations. The controversy coincides with reports of increased collaboration between US and Ghanaian authorities on financial crime investigations, though no official link to Waddle has been confirmed.
