Kojo Yankah Holds Talks With UCC SRC

Cape Coast The Central Regional Minister, Mr Kojo Yankah, has said the government has not neglected issues pertaining to the welfare of students of tertiary institutions. Government has rather reacted favourably to such issues, he said, and cited the “Akosombo Forum” and the seeking of funds as some of the measures taken by the government to enhance tertiary education. Mr Yankah said this when the executive of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast channelled a resolution on their grievances on the cost sharing issue as well as the state of facilities in the universities through him to the Minister of Education. The Akosombo Forum solicited views on cost sharing in tertiary education. The regional Minister said despite competing demands from other sectors, the government would do its best to cater for their needs, stressing that it is the concern of every member of government to ensure improved facilities at the universities.
