Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah reacts to Nana Addo “attack”

Host of Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has reacted to claims that he was attacked by the presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the IEA Presidential debate last Wednesday.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was widely condemned – especially by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) – for supposedly attacking Kojo who was one of the moderators of the debate on the night, since he refused to grant Nana a request for rebuttal.

Clearing the air on the matter, however, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah explained to Joy News what actually transpired that night.

“You know usually, at the end of every debate the candidates will walk up to where I’m seated, shake hands with you and everybody will tell you something different.

“I recall that at the end of Wednesday’s debate, when the NPP candidate came up he drew my attention to the fact that he had wanted…to do a rebuttal about one of the inaccuracies that one of the candidates had mentioned.”

Kojo said he apologized to Nana Addo for not affording him that opportunity to rebut and promised to forward his grievances to the IEA Presidential debate committee.

“And we left it at that,” Kojo added.
