Koforidua sex man grabbed

Kwaku Manu, the 40-year-old man who allegedly hacked a 19-year-old girl, Mabel Okyere, for denying him sexual pleasure, has been arrested by the New Juaben Municipal Police Command in the Eastern Region.

On Saturday, the police, following a tip-off, apprehended Kwaku Manu at his hideout at a village on the Obour Tabiri mountains in the region.

The suspect was allegedly given accommodation by Mame Ama Kyerewah, the mother of the victim, for about six months after both of them met as friends at the Okomfo Mmotia shrine near Akropong.

But Manu, who is a known wee smoker and drunkard, allegedly entered Mabel’s room last Friday at dawn at about 1 am when she was asleep and demanded sexual gratification from the victim.

The victim, who is currently receiving treatment at a health facility, however, refused to give in, infuriating Manu, who consequently inflicted cutlass wounds on her.

The suspect will be put before the Koforidua Magistrate Court today.
