The Koforidua Regional Hospital on Tuesday, Christmas day, recorded 11 deliveries, which produced 12 babies.
The babies, eight males and four females, including a set of twins, were born through normal means, but three of them were through caesarean operation.
Madam Adelaide Sarpong, Senior Staff Midwife at the hospital, disclosed these to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Koforidua on Wednesday.
She said the first baby, a female, was born at around 0115 hours, and the last baby was born at around 1930 hours, all on Christmas day.
Madam Sarpong said the three mothers, who underwent caesarean operation, were still recuperating.
The New Life Evangelistic Ministry in Koforidua donated toilet rolls, baby diapers, soap, detergents and milk to mothers of the babies and the nursing staff of the hospital.
Head of the church, Pastor George Manu Boakye, said the gesture was in fulfillment of the church’s duty to visit and donate to the prisons, needy homes and hospitals regularly.
In another development, the Suhum Government Hospital recorded two births on the Christmas day.
Madam Helen Osafo, the Principal Nursing Officer of the hospital, told GNA that the male babies were born normally.
