Kofiase chief threatens to champion boycott of assembly polls if .

Kofiase (Ash), June 30, GNA – The Chief of Kofiase, a farming community in the Asante-Mampong Municipality, has threatened to lead a boycott of the upcoming district level elections unless government rehabilitate the 13-kilometre road linking the area to Mampong. Nana Agyei Otuo Acheampong, said: “we certainly are not going to be part of the polls if we do not see any sign of improvement of our road”, He issued the warning at a forum organized by the National Commission for Civic Education to raise the enthusiasm of the people in the forthcoming district assembly polls, at Kofiase.

Nana Acheampong said that the bad nature of the road was making it difficult for the people to transport stockpiles of food and cash crops to the marketing centres. He asked government to provide, a vehicle, block of classrooms, science laboratory, library residential accommodation and dormitories for the Seventh-Day Adventist Senior High School in the town. 30 June 10
