Kofi Sammy remanded for defilement

Twifo Praso (C/R), Jan. 21, GNA – Kofi Sammy, a 20-year-old unemployed man, was on Friday remanded into prison custody by the Twifo Praso district magistrate court for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl at Twifo Praso. His plea was not taken and he would re-appear on February 25. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector George Okine told the court that in December last year the victim’s parents had information that Sammy was secretly having an affair with the victim and they reported the matter to the police.

He said the police invited Sammy for questioning and he admitted the offence and said the victim was the girlfriend.
