Bechem United have confirmed the appointment of Kobina Amissah as their new head coach following the dismissal of Desmond-Issah Botchway, who managed just one win in eight Ghana Premier League matches.
The Hunters have endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 campaign, collecting only six points from a possible 24, a run that has left them languishing in the relegation zone.
In a bid to turn their fortunes around, the club has turned to Amissah, a coach widely known in Ghanaian football circles as a “promotion specialist.” He will be assisted by Mallam Yahaya, a former Ghana international.
Amissah brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success, having guided several clubs to Ghana’s top flight, including Berekum Chelsea, Elmina Sharks, Sekondi Hasaacas, and Bibiani GoldStars, who went on to become Premier League champions in 2021.
The 53-year-old tactician is expected to take charge of the team’s next league encounter against Young Apostles on Sunday, November 9, where fans will be eager to see early signs of revival under his leadership.
Bechem United, known for nurturing young talents and playing vibrant football, will be hoping Amissah’s tactical discipline and motivational touch can inspire a turnaround as they look to climb away from the drop zone.
