Koala robbers refused bail

Three of the five suspects who conspired and attempted to rob sales girl, Lydia Horsu, an employee of Koala Shopping Mall on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Cantonments were on Wednesday refused bail by an Accra Circuit Court.

The three; Michael Edoe Ahiataku, aka Old Soldier, Gilbert Osabutey, aka Obolo and Frederick Sedro Kwame, aka Fred are currently on remand in Police custody.

They have been charged with four counts; conspiracy to commit crime, robbery, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and causing harm to their victim.

The robbers shot the victim whom they thought was on her way to deposit the previous day’s sales at the bank. While they were absconding, a taxi driver hit the motorbike of the thieves, throwing them off the bike into a gutter following which they were arrested.
