‘Koala robbers’ plead not guilty

The two suspected robbers who attacked a Koala salesgirl at cantonments in Accra have pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery leveled against them.

The two, who appeared in court for the first time since the incident, said they did not confront the lady to rob her, Starr News’ Wilberforce Asare reported Friday.

The robbers, on January 8 this year, shot the Koala salesgirl on her way to deposit the previous day’s sales at the bank. While bolting, a brave driver rammed into the motorbike of the thieves, forcing them into a nearby drain.

The brave driver has since become a national hero receiving recognition from President John Mahama and other corporate organisations.
