KNUST Appoints Abuja Varsity Don Assessor

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana has appointed a University of Abuja historian, Prof. Aliyu Alhaji Idrees as her external assessor.

A letter from the Registrar of the Ghanian University to Idrees who is also Dean of Students Affairs said as external assessor, Idrees is to help assess candidates for promotion to Associate Professor in the Department of General and African Studies.

The letter signed by one K. Asante Agyarko for the Registrar of the Kumasi-based university reads in part: “This university is considering one of its lecturers for promotion from senior lecturer to Associate Professor at the Department of General and African Studies in our Faculty of Social Science.

“Our criteria for promotion require that an external assessment of each candidate’s promotion of knowledge as evident from the publications should be sought and I am pleased to inform you that you have been proposed as an external assessor for this candidate. I should be grateful if you could let me know whether or not you would be able to assist in this exercise,” the letter further solicited.
