KMA transport officer vies for NPP slot for Fomena by-election

Fomena (Ash), Dec. 18, GNA – Mr Daniel Attah-Boafo, aspiring parliamentary candidates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Fomena by-election, says his vision is to work towards building a formidable NPP that will win the 2008 elections hands down in the constituency.

“I want to help to make NPP very strong in the Fomena constituency”, he said.

Mr Attah-Boafo, a Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Transport Officer, who is among seven party activists contesting the January 23 by-election, was speaking to the press at Fomena after introducing himself to the Adansi Traditional Council at the weekend.

The other NPP aspirants are Mr Kwabena Asante, Mr J.H. Oppong, Mr Joseph Kwadwo Attobrah, Nana Abu Bonsra, Mr Kwasi Annan-Frimpong and one Assiamah.

Mr Attah-Boafo, a citizen of Ayaase, near Fomena, said his motivation was to see an improvement in education in the area and pledged to team up with the district assembly for the realisation of that objective.

He noted that the constituency lacked adequate infrastructure and said that would also be his priority when given the mandate.

The parliamentary aspirant was not happy about the current chieftaincy problems in the area and hoped when that was solved, he would reconcile chiefs and the youth to target development.

Mr Attah-Boafo said he had high chances of winning the seat, because he personally facilitated the solution of transportation problems facing people in the area by playing a major role in the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) operations from Kumasi to Adansi-Asokwa.

Mr Attah-Boafo, who is also the Chairman of the Adansi Development Association, said he had helped over 30 Adansi youth to gain employment in Kumasi.
