KMA to embark on massive clean-up exercise

Kumasi, Feb. 17, GNA – The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) in collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana Limited would on Saturday, February 21, embark on a massive clean-up exercise as part of measures to rid the metropolis of filth.

Launching the exercise at a ceremony in Kumasi on Tuesday, Mr Anthony Mensah, Director in-charge of the Waste Management Department of the KMA, said the exercise, which would last for three days was necessitated by the large volume of filth in the metropolis. He pointed out that there was the need for the metropolis to be kept clean to avoid communicable diseases, especially as the rainy season draws near.

Mr Mensah appealed to stakeholders to support the exercise by donating litter bins and other related equipments to facilitate the clean-up. 17 Feb. 09
