KMA seeks partnership with Kitchener of Canada

Kumasi, Oct. 25, GNA – The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) will sign a development partnership agreement with the Kitchener City of Canada with as part of efforts to bolster socio-economic ties between the two cities. The areas of partnership will include strengthening local governance, data collection and revenue mobilization, capacity building for staffs and private sector development, according to Mr Carl Zehr, Mayor of Kitchener, who arrived in Kumasi at the head of a three-member delegation.

The delegation called on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, on Wednesday.

Mr Zehr said the two cities have common objectives and express the hope that the partnership would help them to develop. Mr Owusu-Ansah described the partnership as laudable and hoped it would strengthen the good relations between the two cities to ensure development.

He urged the political heads of Kumasi and Kitchener to put in place measures to ensure the sustenance of the agreement.
