The Ashanti Regional Minister has assured the people of the region that as far as his administration is concerned, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) is insulated from political machinations and intrigues.
Hon. S. K. Boafo said, the assembly is not a political playing field; rather, it is there to ensure the well being of the people of the metropolis, adding, “We cannot compromise this important duty with politics”.
He said these when he took his turn at the weekly Meet-The-Press series yesterday in Accra.
Hon. Boafo noted that the obstacles, that were being put in the way of the Chief Executive of the KMA, Mr. Kofi Jumah, are purely political, but in the long run, Mr. Jumah has been able to live with it and has come out successful.
