KMA members agitate over inauguration of Kejetia new market

President John Dramani Mahama as part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti region will on Tuesday November 8, 2016 inaugurate Phase1 of the Kejetia New Market.

The Kejetia new market which is not yet to be fully completed will be inaugurated by the President to allow portions of it to be used whiles work is ongoing on the other parts.

But information reaching Ultimatefmonline.com indicates that some members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) are kicking against the move, saying the first phase is not completed blaming the regional minister who is also the acting Mayor of Kumasi Alexander Ackon of feeding the President with wrong information about the project.

They threatened to resist any attempt by the President to inaugurate the facility, adding that they have not been informed about the President’s visit to the site.

The members explained that the President cannot inaugurate the new market being built in their name without prior notice.

The President who is expected to start his tour in the region will pay courtesy calls on some chiefs, queen mothers and commission projects.
