KMA demolishes buildings at Bantama

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has pulled down about 20 structures at Ohwim Amanfrom at Bantama, a suburb of Kumasi.

Adehye FM’s Owoahene Addai Mununkum, who was at the scene on Tuesday 14 March, reported that the motive for the demolition was not known, however, some of the victims indicated that the plots on which the buildings were located was the subject of a court suit.

One of the victims of the exercise said: “We were asked to pay some amount of money but we refused and so they came to pull down the buildings.”

The reporter said the Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah, was unable to give a rationale for the demolition
