KLM Royal Dutch airlines has inaugurated the airline’s traders’ club in Kumasi.
The inauguration was aimed at formally bringing together their potential market segment – The Trader Group who travel on the airline, to educate them on the importance of becoming members and benefits to be accrued from membership of the club.
In his address to the membership of the club, KLM Sales Manager, Mr. Norman Williams said members of the club are entitled to numerous benefits. A membership card gives bearers more privileged services at KLM’s offices than non-members once they tender their cards at the airline’s offices.
According to Mr. Williams, members of the traders’ club also stand the opportunity of being given among others, special fare packages and allowed extra kilograms while flying on KLM.
The KLM Sales Manager also noted that the airline would restrict transportation bills of traders who travel from Kumasi to Accra to board the flight to their various destinations to transact business.
Mr. Williams touched on KLM’s alliance with Kenya Airways and Northwest Airlines, which he said together, provide seamless service to KLM travelers to destinations worldwide.
As part of the inauguration, Mr. Williams rewarded some of the traders’ club members with free tickets to destinations in Europe, North America and the Far East. Recipients of the airline tickets were members of the KLM traders club who had consistently flown on the airline for a period of time to various destinations for business. The presentation was in appreciation of the traders’ loyalty to KLM and for their contribution to the airline’s success.
Mrs. Grace Adomako of the Marketing Department of KLM explained details of the frequent flyer programme, its categories and the build up of points with its benefits to the traders.
Inaugurating the club, the Vice President of the KLM Traders’ Club, Nana Abena Boatemaa urged traders at the function that had not registered to become members of the club.
She also advised her colleagues to exercise circumspection on the weight of their hand luggage while traveling since luggage in excess of 30 kilograms carried on as cabin luggage has the potential of negatively impacting on their health and flight safety.
