Klefe, (V/R) Jan. 28, GNA – The Klefe Youth Development Association (KYDA), on Thursday, presented seven flat screen desk-top computers, with accessories, to the Klefe Atsatime and Klefe- Dome Junior High Schools.
The computers, which cost about GHC2,900 are to help build a firm foundation in Information Communication Technology (ICT) of students in the area.
Dr Prosper Nude, President of KYDA, who presented the items, commended teachers in the two schools for helping to improve the academic performances of students in the area and challenged the students from Klefe to persevere in their academic pursuits
“We are grateful to our teachers for restoring Klefe to its enviable position with good grades in external exams in the Municipal area and we can only hope for more wonders, in future Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE),” he said.
Dr Nude urged the students to put more effort into their education and desist from boycotting classes for farms.
Reverend Japhet Yaw Ledo, Chairman of the Klefe Education Reform Committee challenged students from Klefe to persevere in their academic pursuits, saying that, the “heights attained by famous people were through hard work”.
Mr Dotse Charles Kwasi, Headmaster of Klefe-Atsatime JHS, who received the items on behalf of the schools, expressed his gratitude to the Association and assured that, the gesture would challenge them to do better than the 95 per cent chalked, in the 2010 BECE.
Mr Ransford Delali Kasu, Assemblyman elect for the Area, reiterated the call on parents to invest in the education of their children rather than spending lavishly on funerals.
Togbe Afele Dzaga X, Paramount Chief of the Klefe Traditional Area, in a speech read on his behalf, advised students to desist from roaming the streets at night.
