Klefe Atsiatime invests in education

The chiefs and people of Klefe Atsiatime, near Ho in the Volta Region, at the weekend raised Ghc7,800 towards the rehabilitation of the community’s dilapidated basic school block.

Part of the money would also be used to complete the school’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) centre initiated by the people.

Togbe Kwasi Addo XVII, Chief of the community, underscored the importance of education and urged parents to invest in the education of their children.

“Education is the key to breaking the chain of poverty, so we have to continue investing in the education of our children,” he advised.

Mr Delali Kasu, Assembly Member for the area, said the community was working hard to restore: “Klefe as the home of academic excellence. Students from Klefe were always among the best from the region, and we want to restore that glory”.

The Klefe Traditional Area has initiated a number of self-help projects, and recently, the Atsiatime community completed a three-unit classroom block.
