Kingsley Ackom wins Best Teacher award

Koforidua, Oct. 6, GNA – Mr Kinsley Ackom of Kumasi Technical Institute, was on Tuesday declared the Best Teacher at the 16th National Best Teacher Awards ceremony in Koforidua.

He was presented with a cheque of GH¢ 60,000 to put a house of his choice, plus a set of computers and a laptop.

The first runner-up went to Mr Samuel Addai, of the Suame Methodist Junior High School.

He was presented with a double Decker pick-up and a set of computers for his school as well as a personal laptop and a modem. The second runner-up prize went to Mr Peter Amponsah, of the Akompanin L.A. Primary school who had a Saloon car plus a set of computer for his school and a personal laptop and a modem Mr Ackom in an acceptance speech expressed his appreciation to the government for recognising the important role teachers’ play in the socio-economic development of the nation.

He challenged the other award winners to reciprocate the gesture by working extra hard to raise the standard of education in the country.
