KIA stops the supply of Aviation Turbine Kerosene Fuel

Accra, Jan.23, GNA-The Kotoka International Airport has suspended the supply of Aviation Turbine Kerosene Fuel, Airport management announced on Saturday. It has therefore asked airline to refuel from neighbouring countries especially Togo while these who have their own special arrangements are supposed to stick to them.

A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency by Ghana Airports Company, said a fire outbreak at the loading gantry of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) resulted in the temporary cut of supply to the Airport. “The situation has further been affected by on-going refurbishment of the tanks by JUHI in line with safety standards in the aviation industry and is scheduled to the completed in mid February 2010.” The statement said:” JUHI has initiated steps to ensure the provision of ATK from neighbouring countries for the use at the in the short-term.” 23 Jan.10
