Key Ministers to address Africa Energy Summit

Accra, Nov. 26, GNA – Key energy ministers, senior industry executives and energy officials will gather at the All Africa Energy Summit 2009, to be held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra, Ghana from December 7-8. Focusing on new opportunities in emerging Africa, the summit will bring together international business leaders and industry professionals to provide in-depth market knowledge and latest industry updates, plus discuss key developments in Africa’s prospective energy sector.

Dr Kwabena Donkor, Deputy Minister of Energy will officiate at the opening of the Summit on December 7, according to an official statement received in Accra on Thursday.

The summit will also be addressed Professor Ogunlade Davidson, Minister of Energy of Sierra Leone and Dr Eugene Shannon, Minister of Energy, Mines & Land of Liberia.

With oil and gas reserves depleting in regions outside Africa, there is no lack of new energy projects being developed in the continent, such as the current interest in Jubilee Fields and new discoveries off Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea-Conakry, Cote d’Ivoire and Sao Tome-Principe. Discussion will also centre on the potential of Ghana as the hub for West Africa, the statement said.

Professional networking sessions will be held for delegates to forge meaningful partnerships and build significant business leads with investors, stakeholders, potential collaborators as well as the who’s who of the energy, oil and gas industry.

This summit is organised by Magenta Global Pte Ltd in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and endorsed by the Ministry of Energy of Ghana.

Summit supporters include the Association of Ghana Industries, Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
