Ketu-South DISEC to meet on June 4 celebrations

The Ketu-South District Security Committee (DISEC) was expected to hold an emergency meeting on Friday at Denu, to discuss matters related to this year’s June 4 anniversary celebration at Aflao.

A source close to the DISEC, told the GNA that the meeting had to be reschedule for the afternoon, to enable the DISEC Chairman, Mr. Bernard Amarble, Ketu-South District Chief Executive (DCE) to attend.

The DCE had attended a Regional Security Council (REGSEC) meeting in Ho in the morning.

The source could not provide the aim of the meeting but it speculated that it would discuss security issues with regards to the June 4 celebration.

The Ghana News Agency (GNA) could not reach Mr. Amarble for his comment on the issue.

Mr. Kafui Mensah, a member of the Local Event Planning Committee of June 4 celebration, told the GNA that the event would come on as planned at Aflao Victoria Park.

He said Muslim prayers would be held on Friday June 1 to be followed by a meeting by June 4 adherents.

There would be Christian prayers in the morning of June 4 to be climaxed by a durbar in the afternoon.**
