Ketu-North Assembly rejects President’s second nominee for DCE

Dzodze, Oct 9, GNA – The Ketu-North District Assembly on Thursday voted to reject Mr Claver Kofi Lawson, 42, who has been nominated by President Mills for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE). Mr Lawson, said to be an aide to former President Jerry John Rawlings, won 17 votes representing 61.39 per cent of the 28 assembly members present, with 11 against.

A second round of voting has been scheduled for October 17. Mr Lawson was the President’s second nominee for DCE for the newly created Ketu-North district, following the rejection of an earlier nominee, Mr Moses Azaglo. 09 Oct. 09
