Keta Municipal Assembly acquires grader and pick- ups for greater performance

A grader worth 301,000 Ghana cedis and two double cabin Toyota pick-Ups, costing 52, 000 Ghana Cedis each have been acquired by the Keta Municipal Assembly from its own resources including the Common Fund.

The grader is to be used in improving the road network in the area while the pickups are to enhance mobilization of Internally Generated Funds (IGF).

The grader and pick-ups were commissioned by Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister, who is on a two-week tour of the region to inspect the progress of development projects and interact with the people.

He commended the Assembly for the initiative adding the Volta Region has a huge development deficit which must be cleared through hard work and appealed to the people to be patient with the government.

At Anloga, the Minister joined Mr Kofi Humado, Minister of Youth and Sports and Togbe Sri III, Awomefia of Anlo, to present working tools to about 400 youths who completed skills training under the Youth Enterprise and Skills Development Centre (YESDEC).

Beneficiaries were from the Ketu South and Ketu North, South Tongu, North Tongu and Akatsi districts and the Keta Municipality.

The received hair dressing and barbering, agro-processing, leather works, mobile phone repair, block molding, sewing machines, cameras, ovens, cassava millers and tricycle vehicles as working tools.

Mr Amenowode appealed to the youth including unemployed graduates to take advantage of facilities such as the YESDEC scheme intended to give skills and entrepreneurship capacity to the youth.

Togbe Sri advised the youth to start life from a humble beginning and persevere towards greater heights.
