Kessben was arrested due to sheer jealousy – Ken Agyapong

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central in the Central Region, Kennedy Agyapong, has objected to the arrest of Kumasi-based business mogul, Kwabena Kesse, otherwise known as Kessben.

He stated that it was unfair and improper for the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to arrest the hard working businessman at the Kotoka International Airport in the presence of his wife and children upon his arrival.

The outspoken MP insisted that Mr Kesse is a decent businessman who by dint of hard work over the decades has been able to set up numerous organisations which provide employment for a chunk of the population.

He stated that Mr Kesse’s arrest was not right, stressing that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kessben Group of Companies had become a target of jealousy, hence his shameful arrest by the BNI.

“Kessben was arrested due to sheer jealousy,” Mr Agyapong claimed on Hello FM, stating that the Kessben FM and Kessben TV owner is a genuine businessman who is being punished wrongly.

He said if the President Mahama’s administration is seriously looking for thieves to arrest and deal with, then, it should not go further since there are a bunch of thieves very close to the President.

According to him, there are several people surrounding the President who have dug their hands in state funds “so the President should chase them with the BNI and retrieve those monies.”

Mr Agyapong also lambasted the President for failing to manage the country properly.
