Kente weaver jailed for defilement

Aflao, April 4, GNA- A 26 year- old Agbozume- based Kente Weaver, has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment by the Aflao Circuit Court for defiling a 14-year-old girl.

Gershon Agbenyo, who changed his initial plea of not guilty to guilty, defended his action as orderly, saying he and the victim had agreed to get married sooner than later.

Police Inspector George Bedzra told the Court presided over by Mr Godwin Kwasi-Kumah that at about 1200 hours on December 25, last year, the victim’s parents noticed that their daughter was not at home. He said after a fruitless search, the parents reported the matter to the Police.

Inspector Bedzra said five days later, a search party traced the victim to Agbenyo’s room at Klikor-Homeh near Agbozume.
