Kente Weaver Jailed 10 years For Defilement

Aflao, Dec. 16, GNA – David Ahiadu, a 20-year-old kente weaver of Agbozume has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by an Aflao circuit court for defiling a 10-year-old primary two pupil. He pleaded not guilty.

Mr. Francis Agbogli, a Police Chief Inspector of Agbozume, told the court that Ahiadu on March 01 asked the victim to accompany him to a palm plantation under the pretext of cutting some palm branches to make brooms. While there Ahiadu laid some palm branches he cut as a mat, forced the victim on them and defiled her. A female witness met the convict in the act and while pulling him to the police station Ahiadu freed himself and bolted. Ahiadu later reported himself to the police and admitted the offence in his statement.
