Kennedy Charity Fund donates to Teshie Orphanage

Accra, Jan. 4, GNA – Kennedy Charity Fund, a Non-Governmental Organization based in the United Kingdom, on Thursday, donated food items worth more than four million cedis and an amount of one million cedis to the Teshie Orphanage at Teshie in Accra. The food items included rice, sugar, cooking oil, toilet rolls, detergents and biscuits.

Dr. Kennedy Feyi, Director and Founder of the fund, who made the donation on behalf of the fund, said it has been the policy of the organization to donate to the poor and the needy as well as the underprivileged in society.

He said, last year, his organization spent about 106 million cedis on donations to some homes and hospitals in the Greater Accra and the Volta Regions.

Dr. Feyi said the fund is putting up a Day Care centre for the people of Tsibu Bethel in the Volta Region to help train and educate the children in the community.

Madam Janet Anyeley Parker, Director of the Teshie Orphanage who received the items on behalf of the orphanage, thanked the fund for their kind gesture and appealed to other non-governmental organizations, institutions and individuals to donate towards the upkeep of the orphans.
