President Akufo-Addo has made a very heartwarming revelation about his finance minister, Ken Ofori Attah.
Speaking to concerns by some critics over the capacity of the finance minister to play his role creditably as the manager of the public purse, the president argued that their familial relations has no bearing on the output of the finance minister.
Addressing the Ghanaian residents in Zambia, the president revealed Ken Ofori Attah is the best choice to turn the fortunes of Ghana around.
According to Nana Addo, “People were complaining he is my cousin and so on but if he is and can deliver do you expect me to bring someone who cannot do the job”, he asked.
The statement by the president on the finance minister follows a similar concern raised over his choice of the chief justice as some political critics say the choice for Sophia Akufo was to a large extent a clear indication of his quest to fill high appointments with family and friends.
Meanwhile, Ken Ofori Attah faces various challenges in the economy top of the list being the issuance of the 2.25 billion bond which saw him summoned to parliament as minority in parliament wondered why how the bond was over-floated and also had a family or friend as a key signatory to it.
Ken Ofori Atta has argued that he still remains committed to ensuring that Ghana’s economy is transformed with issues of inflation expected to stabilize in the next few years .
