Ken Agyapong’s lies about BoG guest house contract exposed

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has been caught again with his lies bothering on some Bank of Ghana project in the Northern Region awarded to Maripoma Enterprise Limited.

The Assin North Member of Parliament claimed that the cost of the development of a Guest House Complex at Tamale in the Northern Region was bloated to over S100million.

Documents intercepted from highly placed sources reveal that the MP was making conjectures as he had no better idea of the project as he claimed.

Facts checked on the project has revealed the cost of the project was not even quoted in US dollars but in Ghanaian Cedis and nowhere closer to the figure quoted by Mr. Agyapong.

The figure for the project was quoted at GHC142, 166, 990.27 (Value Added Tax Inclusive) and not $100million.

Earlier on at Cape Coast, Mr. Agyapong claimed that the cost of the project was over $139million.

However, checks revealed that the General Summary of the project included preliminaries, construction and completion of guest house-main block, construction of service block with ancillary works.

Other activities would include the construction of security staff block, gate house, close type fence wall and entrance gate, construction and completion of pool house, swimming pools, tennis court and ancillary works and external works.

Mr. Agyapong who made the unsubstantiated allegations at Bawku during the campaign launch of the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary candidate for the area, fell short of coming out with the full details of the project because of political expediency.

His claims that Maripoma Enterprise Limited was awarded 47 projects in the Eastern Region has also turned out to be false as there is no single contractor with more than two projects in that region.
