Ken Agyapong to appear in court today

The beleaguered New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong is expected to appear in court today as the treason charges preferred against him by the police begins.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker was picked up by the law enforcement agencies was released on a GH¢200,000 bail by the Fast Track High Court shortly after a Human Rights Court granted him bail on health grounds following a habeas corpus writ filed by his lawyers on Thursday.

The opposition firebrand is being tried for making treasonable comments on an Accra-based radio station, Oman FM which have been described by many as inflammatory.

He has been charged for treason felony, attempt to commit genocide and engaging in acts of terrorism.

The actual case is to be heard today as the state prosecutors are expected to review the charges.**
