Ken Agyapong amassed wealth under NPP gov’t – NDC Guru

It is obvious that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, is unquestionably one of the leading “moneymen” who has helped the party in diverse ways over the years.

Kennedy Agyapong’s wealth, according his comrades within the NPP, was made before he joined politics.

Recently, the firebrand MP issued a strong warning on NEAT FM, an Accra-based radio station to his party that if anybody dares to call him before the party’s Council of Elders, then they should be ready to cough up $1million.

His comment came after he described the entire hierarchy of the party as “thieves and corrupt” and many called on the leadership of the party to sanction him.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Deputy Propaganda Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah believes the demeanor of the Assin Central MP must be strongly criticised.

To him, unlike other successful businessmen who don’t flaunt their wealth, Kennedy Agyapong is one of a kind, who arrogantly crows about how rich they are.

“If you listen to Ken, he always says I have done this, I have that, I am rich and so on…but the truth is in 2000, when he (Kennedy) contested as Assin Fosu MP, how rich was he? He only amassed wealth when NPP came to power. I know Kennedy Agyapong, he wasn’t that rich by then. He never came on radio to say all that he is saying now, a couple of years ago,” he said.
