Keep Your Surroundings Clean – Nana Konadu

Accra (GAR), – The First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, has asked Ghanaians to keep their gutters free of garbage to avoid floods during the rainy season. The First Lady gave the advice at a durbar organised by the Dadekotopon branch of the 31st December Women’s Movement at La. ”Choking the gutters with rubbish and other things prevent the flow of the rain water creating floods and other health hazards”. The NDC government, she said, is determined to improve the social well-being and conditions of all Ghanaians adding that structural developments going on all over the country are good testimonies. Nana Konadu praised the people of the area for their support for the NDC during the general elections last year and asked Ghanaians not to take the peace prevailing in the country for granted. The Deputy Minister for Roads and Transport, Mr. Steve Akorli, announced that work on the La link road will start at the end of the month and introduced the contractor for the job to the people. He said only competent contractors would be awarded jobs and asked the people to cooperate with the contractor when the project starts.
