“Keep the environment as clean as your hearts”

Ashaiman, May 29, GNA – Churches were on Sunday called upon to use their pulpits to educate their congregations on the need to keep the environment clean just as they advise on keeping clean and open hearts. Mr Richard Nii Kwao, Assemblyman for Nii Mang, at Ashaiman noted that it was not enough for churches to preach to their members to keep unblemished characters and hearts while they worshipped within filthy environment.

He requested the church members to honour payment of refuse fees to support the Tema Municipal Assembly to collect refuse fees from members of the communities and maintain clean environment for good health.

The Assembly member also advised against noise making by the churches within the communities in order to allow residents to have peace for their activities, warning that excessive noise could be an offence.

On the National Health Insurance Scheme, he said that was the only guarantee for the patients to have quality health and asked leaders of the church to assist the government by educating their members to embrace it to enable it to operate as planned. 29 May 05
