KEEA NPP Supports Nduom – Chairman

Ajumako, C/R, July 19, GNA – Mr Ebenezer Agyeman-Kesse, Chairman of the Komenda-Edina Eguafo Abirem constituency of the NPP, has declared the overwhelming support of the party for Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom to contest the parliamentary seat in the December election.

He debunked the assertions of the NDC that President Kufuor’s declaration of support for the CPP candidate for KEEA amounted to another “Swedru declaration”.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Ajumako, Mr Agyeman-Kesse said before President Kufuor declaration, he had met Nana Ato Arthur, District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, national, regional and constituency executives of the NPP on the issue.

He noted that the President’s declaration of support had boosted the morale of NPP supporters to rally behind Dr Nduom to defeat the NDC candidate in the December elections.

Mr Agyeman-Kesse stated, “it is the party which gave birth to the government and if somebody is doing well in the government it is important to take him or her as one of us to enable the person to continue with the government”.

The Constituency Chairman said, “the DCE knew what the President was going to say to the electorate and it will not make any negative impact on the activities of the party”.

He said politics in KEEA was about personality and expressed the hope that people in the constituency would definitely vote massively for Dr Nduom in the election.

Mr Agyeman-Kesse noted that opinion leaders and the electorate were satisfied with President Kufuor’s declaration and “there is no cause for alarm” saying, “with this new development the constituency’s election results in December would be among the first to be declared”.
