Pop superstar Katy Perry experienced a frightening moment during her “Lifetimes” tour stop in San Francisco when a stage prop malfunctioned mid-performance, nearly causing her to fall.
The incident occurred as the singer was being lifted above the crowd on a large butterfly-shaped prop.
Midway through the flight, the mechanical rig suddenly swung violently to one side, causing a brief panic among fans and crew.
Perry managed to stay composed, clutching tightly to the structure as stagehands rushed to stabilise it.
The mishap drew gasps from the audience but fortunately ended without injury. Katy Perry continued the performance after regaining balance, earning applause for her professionalism and resilience.
The tour’s production team has since assured fans that a full safety review is underway and measures are being taken to prevent any similar issues in future shows.
