KATH receives 250 million cedis items.

Kumasi, Aug 11, GNA – Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has received medical items worth about 250 million cedis from the Asanteman Union of Ruhrgebiet-Oberhausten in Germany.

The items include drugs, beds, mattresses, orthopaedic trolley, wheelchairs, water heaters, metal and plastic plates, bedside lockers, serving trays and chamber pots.

Making the presentation Mr Peter Osei Sampene, General Secretary of the Union, said it was in fulfilment of their pledge help to improve on facilities at hospitals in the Ashanti Region.

The donation, he said, marked the beginning of what is going to be a long and fruitful collaboration between the Union and the Hospital to bring quality health care to the people.

Mr I. Offeh Gyimah, Director of Administration of KATH, said the hospital was grateful to the Union for the support. He expressed happiness at the level of support the hospital continues to enjoy from individuals, groups and organisations and said these donations helped to make health care more accessible to the poor. 11 Aug. 03
