KATH medical practitioners resume emergency surgical care

Accra, Sept. 22, GNA – Medical practitioners at Komfo Anokye Teachin= g Hospital (KATH) have resumed emergency surgical care.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by Dr Paa Kwesi Baidoo, Chairman, Dr Gordon Offei-Larbi, Secretary and Dr Twumasi-Baah, Acting JDA Chairman copied to Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Thursday. It said the doctors resumed work following deliberations with Ministry of Health, Medical and Dental Council and KATH authorities and a firm commitment demonstrated to immediately resolve concerns on the issue of shortfall of doctors.

The statement said: 93We wish to announce within the capacity of the limited staff strength resumption of emergency surgical care with immediate effect whilst further consultations continue in the interest of patient care.

“It is hoped per the commitment demonstrated by MOH and KATH authorities; prompt measures such as re-posting of House Officers would be achieved by Friday, October 14.”
