KATANGA Brainstorms at Alumni Meeting in Washington DC

University Alumni Contributions – KATANGA Brainstorms at Alumni Meeting in Washington DC (KatGoesDC 2014)

KATANGA Alumni – North America has announced a consultative forum to explore ways of take university alumni contributions to another level. According to a statement by Alumni Secretary, Dr. Ekow Insaidoo, KATANGA alumni have over the years explored ways to make a meaningful impact by way of contributions to the hall and have encountered numerous challenges. Unperturbed, KATANGA Alumni in USA and Canada have been summoned to a high-powered consultative meeting in Washington DC to brainstorm and to draw on the experiences of North American universities that have been extremely successful in this venture. The forum will be addressed by a “mystery” guest with vast experience with alumni relations and fundraising for a leading US university.
To formulate its 10-year fund-raising and development strategy, the entire KATANGA alumni family is scheduled to meet at the Bohrer Park (Gaithersburg) in the Washington Metropolitan Area for an event dubbed “Kat Goes DC – 2014” on May 24, 2014. Dr. Insaidoo hinted that FELLOWS, as students and alumni of KATANGA are affectionately called, will not miss the opportunity to network and have some good old fun, KATANGA-style. For this purpose, several activities have been lined up, including: procé, beach volleyball, swimming, chess, drought, scrabble, bouncy castles, and of course, plenty of local food and drinks. FELLOWS of KATANGA, FELLOWAAS of KATANGA (spouses and significant others), FELLOWLETS (sons and daughters of FELLOWS) and FRIENDS of KATANGA (incidentally, all four groups go with the acronym FoK) are all invited to this event. “P-Lodge” debates are planned on various issues of national importance, which will feature some prominent policy makers and university leadership.
