Kassena-Nankana West District Director of Education debunks allegation

Paga (U/E), Jan. 7 GNA – Mr Augustine Bugase, the District Director of Education for the Kassena-Nankana West, has debunked allegations raised by some teachers that the directorate was engaged in economic malfeasance.

Speaking to the media at Paga, he said the teachers who felt victimised were pupils’ teachers and other teachers recruited in 2009 and 2010 but vacated their posts after receiving their salaries.

”In such instances their monies were paid back to government chest which I initiated”, Mr Bugase declared.

The District Director said he would not spare any teacher who would want to cheat government under his administration by vacating their posts and still taking salaries and said “it was against my professional ethics”.

He said every effort was being made by the directorate to ensure that teachers stayed in their classrooms to teach the students in order to arrest the falling standards of education in the District.
