Kasoa upgraded to Urban Council status

Kasoa (C/R), April 30, GNA- Captain Steve Kwamena Armah (RTD), District Chief Executive for Awutu-Effutu-Senya, on Wednesday inaugurated the Kasoa Urban Council with a call on inhabitants in the fast-growing commercial town to assist the District Assembly to get rid of filth in the area.

He announced government’s plan to provide Kasoa with modern telephone facility, improved water facilities, electricity and health delivery systems.

Capt. Armah called for collective approach from opinion leaders in the community to supplement the work of the Urban Council to develop the area.

The DCE asked residents of new urban town to pay their taxes regularly since the operation and development of the council and the community in general, depended largely on funds.

The presiding member of the assembly, Mr Kwasi Esseku, advised revenue collectors in the area to step up their activities to generate adequate revenue for the assembly.

Mr Esseku warned against bickering, laziness and malingering because they retarded progress. 30 April 04
