Kan-Dapaah debunks resignation rumour

National Security Minister Albert Kan-Dapaah has said he has no reason to resign from his position, indicating that any reports to that effect are false.

Information on social media suggested that he was in the process of submitting his resignation letter soon, with one Bryan Acheampong to succeed him.

However, Mr Kan-Dapaah told ClassFMOnline.com on Saturday April 15: “It is not true,” adding that he has no reason to take such an action.

Earlier, a group calling itself Friends of Kan-Dapaah (FKD) issued a statement, indicating that Mr Dapaah is “capable and competent” for which reason “President Akufo-Addo appointed him for that position”.

Convener of the group, Nana Kyei, further cautioned party members and other individuals to stop the “attacks and insults” on the National Security Minister.

The group further urged Mr Kan-Dapaah to “never look back because you are serving Ghana not only NPP (New Patriotic Party)”, adding: “Without law, Ghana can’t develop.”
